The Adopt-a-Tree Initiative provides free trees to urban homeowners who agree to learn tree planting, care, and maintenance techniques. Trees are typically varieties of oak and are distributed as “whips” in the spring. Whips are bare root seedlings about 2 feet in length.
To qualify for a free tree you must reside and own property in the City of Milwaukee and have space to support a large shade tree (approximately 20 feet from any foundations, property lines, overhead wires or other trees). Please complete the information below if you are interested in receiving a free tree. Trees are available in the spring and you will be contacted when they become available.
